Lakewood Electric Ltd. is located in Prince George, BC, Canada, within the Traditional Territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.

The Lheidli T’enneh, formerly known as the Fort George Indian Band, is a community built on the strength of its people. The name “T’enneh” translates to “The People.” They belong to a larger group known as the Dakelh, whose traditional lands include the city of Prince George in British Columbia.

The term “Lheidli” means “The People from the Confluence of the River” in the Dakelh language. This name highlights the significance of the area’s rivers—specifically, where the Nechako River flows into the Fraser River in Prince George. The Nechako River is known for its strong currents, while the Fraser River is referred to as the Big Mouth River. Together, these rivers are an essential part of the Lheidli T’enneh’s identity and heritage.

We honour the power of Indigenous Nations in Canada. We are committed to listening to Indigenous perspectives, maintaining ongoing dialogue, and working together to learn and heal through music, culture, stories, and business.
